This setting controls the size of the TCP/IP receive Window. In general, larger receive windows work better with high-delay, high-bandwidth data.

For added efficiency, the receive window should also be an even multiple of the TCP Maximum Segment Size (MSS).

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new string value (or DWORD for Windows 95) called "DefaultRcvWindow" and set it to equal the required window size in bytes.

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Settings:
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]
Name: DefaultRcvWindow
Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: size in bytes (Default = 8192)
